In addition to the cardboard beds, another issue that has sparked debate is the distribution of condoms in the Olympic village. At this Olympic event, around 27 condoms were distributed per athlete, promoting sexual health and prevention.

It was revealed that the Australians performed all kinds of gymnastics exercises on the bed using resistance bands, doing squat jumps and doing exercises using rackets. All with a great sense of humor and recording everything to later share it on social media.

The CEO of the company that designed the beds, Motokuni Takaoka She spoke about the controversy: “Sex is sex, whether it’s on our beds or in other beds. We just wanted to create a kind of bed that’s more rigid than normal. We just focus on sleeping. We don’t care about the rest of the things that happen on the bed,” she said.
