Olympiacos-Lamia 4-1: Four with the brain in Birmingham [δείτε γκολ και φάσεις] 2024-04-29 03:48:37

Mendiliber’s many changes seemed to … confuse Olympiakos a bit, who in the first 20 minutes threatened only once, when Masouras might not find the ball in the small area, following Horta’s very nice turn. In their first big chance, however, the “red and whites” opened the scoring in the 24th minute: an excellent individual effort by Pontense and a pass to Chiquinhos, who beat Koselev with a powerful shot. Three minutes later (27′), Ese stole the ball and with a vertical transfer brought Navarro one-on-one with the goalkeeper, the Spaniard scored and effectively “cleaned up” the match early on.

Relieved of -any- stress, the home team looked for more goals, but the shots of Ese and Podense did not find their target, while at the beginning of the second half (50′), Koselev had a hard time saving Masoura’s header. In the 52nd minute, however, the Lamia goalkeeper might do nothing to correct Simon’s mistake, which Pontense took advantage of to make it 3-0 with a nice high-hanging spot-kick from the height of the box. Masouras tried something similar in the 55th minute, but missed hopelessly, Medilibar made changes and the visitors… got discouraged. They were warned in the 61′ with a shot by Tsiloulis that was blocked by Paschalakis, they reduced it in the 64′ with a set piece by the newly arrived Tosic and had a great chance to get even closer in the 77′ when Tsiloulis found himself in front of Paschalakis (following an excellent pass by Tosic ), but his placekicker sent the ball wide of the post. Olympiacos finally kept the victory and in the third minute of stoppage time they scored a fourth goal with Alexandropoulos, but certainly the image of the last half hour troubled his coach.
