Director Olivier Assayas has made a remake of his first film as a series for OCS.
A director on antidepressants (Vincent Macaigne ), a Hollywood star stamped Marvel in search of respectability (Alicia Vikander), a young first ready to resort to an intimacy coordinator to give the answer to his ex… Olivier Assayas continues his exploration of a society of entertainment that fascinates him.

In 1996 already, he filmed in his feature film “Irma Vep” his then wife, the Hong Kong star Maggie Cheung grappling with the remake of “Vampires”, a silent soap opera by Louis Feuillade, and wondered by interposed character: “Why redo what has already been done?”
Twenty-six years later, Assayas assumes the clownish irony and the potential emptiness of his project: to shoot the remake of his film (in a series of 8 episodes). It looks complicated on paper, it’s funny and enjoyable on screen. An auteur soap, at the crossroads of “The American Night” and “Gossip Girl”, in which the double of Assayas, played by Vincent Macaigne, admits: “Films don’t really interest me.
