Tunisian olive oil exports increased by 35.7% to 1,568.6 million dinars (MD) since the start of the campaign at the end of March 2023 compared to the same period of the 2021-2022 campaign. , according to the note on the “Figures of the month” which has just been published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).
The quantities exported reached 102.1 thousand tonnes since the start of the campaign at the end of March 2023, i.e. a drop in volume of 6.1%.
The average price recorded during the first six months of the campaign increased by 44.5% or 15.37 D/kg once morest 10.64 D/kg recorded during the same period of the previous campaign.
Bulk olive oil represents 90.9% of exports, once morest only 9.1% for packaging.
Spain is the leading importer of Tunisian olive oil, according to the same source, with a share of 47.2% of the total volume exported during the first six months of the 2022-2023 campaign, followed by Italy (24.6%) and the United States of America (11.0%).
