No. 18 Ole Miss (6-2, 2-2 SEC) emerged victorious, defeating Oklahoma with a final score of 26-14, marking a crucial win for the Rebels in their quest for excellence in the Southeastern Conference.
As the clock ticked down to under 12 minutes left in the game, a sudden halt in play gripped the audience due to a concerning medical incident involving Dr. Kurre Luber, the team physician, who unexpectedly collapsed on the Ole Miss sideline. Three dedicated medical professionals promptly surrounded him, diligently providing aid for several tense minutes.
Luber eventually demonstrated his resilience as he was assisted to his feet and was able to walk off the field, a sight that brought immediate relief to players and fans alike.
“That was scary,” Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin shared, reflecting on the anxiety that swept through the stadium. “I didn’t see right when it happened with Dr. Luber. He’s been awesome around here. He’s been awesome to my family. Great man. That was a really scary moment when he wasn’t moving.”
