Central, IP.- Some 60 older adults from San Antonio and 46 from Fernando de la Mora benefited from these days of care, which took place in the “María Auxiliadora” chapel, in the city of San Antonio, and the “Virgen” Association of Older Adults of Fátima”, by Fernando de la Mora.

Professionals who work with elderly people maintain that this is the stage of life where eye health needs to be attended to the most, as fatigue and wear and tear of many organs of the body are accentuated.

The symptoms of cataracts are detected more frequently in ophthalmological consultations, especially in this type of care sessions, where grandparents who do not regularly go for medical check-ups attend.

These activities are carried out within the framework of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Program for the Elderly, of the Elderly Directorate of the Social Welfare Institute, with the support of the Eye Health Program, responding to one of the objectives centers of the national government.
