The Kotak band group is back with a new project titled #Kotakustik, which presents the release of their old songs into songs that seem softer with an acoustic touch.

Most recently, the acoustic version of the song Kamu Saja was remade in the #Kotakustik project and was released on June 28, 2024.

The original version itself was released in 2014, exactly ten years ago, and was included on the album Never Dies.

This song was created by Mario Marcella Handika Putra, Kotak’s guitarist.

“We want to reintroduce our old songs to listeners in Indonesia by packaging them a little differently. Hopefully this song will be accepted by Kotak’s friends and can also reach new listeners,” said Kotak in an official statement, Wednesday (3/7).

Previously, Kotak had repackaged several previous songs before Kamu Saja. The first three songs chosen to start the #Kotakustik project were Bayang Abadi (2008), Kembali Untukmu (2008), and Kekasih Adalah Sebuah (2016).

The three songs with an acoustic touch received a warm welcome on TikTok and also YouTube with more than hundreds of thousands of viewers per day for the three videos.

Having existed for more than two decades, Kotak is still working through various interesting projects. Not only #Kotakustik, previously, Kotak has also completed the #Kolaberaksi project.

This project conjures up Kotak’s hit song, namely Beraksi repackaged by other musicians with a new feel. Some of the musicians involved in this project are Winky Wiryawan x Mahesa utara, Feel Koplo, Lomba Ajaib, and also Willy Winarko.

All of these songs can be heard on all digital streaming platforms in Indonesia. The official visualizer can also be watched on Kotak’s official YouTube channel. (Ant/Z-1)
