Doji Isaka, also known as Hiromi Isaka, died at 4:24 am on March 18, and his son, Aki, announced on Facebook. He was 74 years old.
Gastric cancer was discovered in August of last year, and although he was receiving anti-cancer drug treatment, he was switching to palliative care because no effect was expected.
Doji Isaka was the first champion of the All Japan Professional Surfing Championship, served as a director of ASP (currently WSL), and contributed to the development of the Japanese surfing world as one of the key players in the early days of surfing in Japan. Recently, he has been devoting himself to producing coastal use in Japan and promoting surfing, including the sea in his hometown of Shonan.
If you’re an Alafor Arafif generation, aren’t there any surfers who don’t know “Doji Isaka’s Surfing Clinic”? He is also a leading surfing how-to.
Mr. Doji Isaka who loved the sea and greatly contributed to the development of surfing in Japan.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and condolences.
