Olavarría: father and daughter die when a car crashes and catches fire | It is investigated if it was intentional

A 57-year-old man and his 26-year-old daughter died this Friday when the car in which they were driving collided with a column, which caused the explosion and the fire of the vehicle in the Buenos Aires party of Olavarríaaccording to sources from that commune.

The incident occurred on the morning of this Friday, when the vehicle exploded and caught fire in its entirety following hitting the column of a height limiter located on Avenida de los Trabajadores, in the direction of Loma de Paz.

Although the firefighters tried to help the people who were inside the car, both had already died due to the crash. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Pedro Zurita, a body and paint mechanic, and his daughter Ayelén.

According to the sources, The cause of the collision is investigated, but due to the strong impact of the car once morest the column, it is not ruled out that the crash was intentional by the driver.

The relatives of the victims indicated that the man had repeatedly threatened his wife and daughter with murder and suicideand that they had a “lousy” bond.

Olavarría’s Undersecretary for Security, Mario Bustos, told Telam that from the area the fact was learned “by a call to 911” and specified that when the Police arrived, the firefighters and the Civil Defense personnel detected that the car had first collided and then had caught fire.

“There are two height delimiters to prevent trucks from passing. In one of them the vehicle crashed and caught fire and then exploded because the car had CNG equipment,” the official said.

The prosecutor in the case, Cristian Urlezaga, ordered the experts to carry out an investigation at the scene, in which the Olavarría Scientific Police also participated. In addition, the autopsy will be carried out tomorrow in the city of Azul, the spokespersons added.
