Adel Al-Jubeir said, during an interview with “Fox News,” “Oil, in our view, is an important commodity for the global economy, in which we have a large share.”
And he added, “The idea that Saudi Arabia is taking this decision to harm the United States or get involved politically is completely incorrect.”
He continued: “We are committed to ensuring stability in the oil markets for the benefit of consumers and producers,” noting: “During the past year, when we saw a shortage, we gradually increased our oil production.”
He continued, “Now we see that we mean 22 countries that make up OPEC + .. We are witnessing a shortage,” adding: “We are witnessing headwinds in terms of geopolitics and growth rates.”
He concluded: “We are witnessing a slowdown in economies in all countries of the world and we want to make sure that we act in a proactive manner to ensure that there is no collapse in energy markets that will be harmful not only to producers but also to consumers and the global economy.”
