Oil expert: Egypt has $3,000 billion in gas in the Mediterranean

Engineer George Ayyad, an expert in the field of petroleum, said that Egypt is already exporting natural gas abroad, and the Egyptians consume more than 6 million meters of gas, at a cost of more than 6 billion dollars.

George Ayyad added, in his meeting with the “Massa DMC” program with the media, Engy El-Qadi, via the dmc channel, that the Egyptian state had been subsidizing hydrocarbons with 180 billion pounds in previous years, continuing: “Egypt now has gas in the Mediterranean worth 3000 billion dollars, and it has discovered Zohr field, which greatly supported the Egyptian economy.

The petroleum expert continued: “The coming period will witness a race for everyone to cooperate with Egypt to receive Egyptian gas, due to the crisis in Europe, and the Egyptian state is currently working to deliver natural gas to all governorates with very large investments.”

Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, he pointed out that Europe is not completely ready to apply sanctions on Russia, especially with regard to petroleum products. “Natural gas has given Egypt great prestige in light of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.”
