ÖHV: Tourism plan 2024 good, more concrete would be better | ÖHV

For the ÖHV, Tourism State Secretary Kraus-Winkler’s action plan should be more focused on the general conditions for the companies

Vienna (OTS) – “This is an incredibly ambitious work program for such a small team with a small budget – and in an election year too. Tourism State Secretary Susanne Kraus-Winkler is absolutely distinguished by this commitment,” explains Dr. Markus Gratzer, Secretary General of the Austrian Hotel Association.

Improve framework conditions and implement concrete solutions for companies

Tourism acceptance, awareness raising, campaigns, measurements and surveys are omnipresent in the action plan, but Gratzer misses concrete measures. Specifically, he would like to see the digital reporting system implemented quickly, the abolition of upper limits for seasonal workers, modern benefit-in-kind limits for employee housing, shorter depreciation periods and measures to strengthen equity, to name just a few.

Time is running out

“2024 has already begun, and the fear that not much can be done in an election year has already come true one time or another,” says Gratzer, insisting that the concrete measures will be binding sooner rather than later, with budgets and dates, will be published.
