OHL: Shane Wright traded to Windsor Spitfires

According to Darren Dreger the TSNforward Shane Wright is traded to the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL.

The Spitfires confirmed the trade late Monday night which also sends a conditional pick of 14e round in 2025.

In return, the Frontenacs receive forward Ethan Miedema and defender Gavin McCarthy in addition to seven draft picks. For the next auction, the team inherits the selections of 2e and third round.

In 2024, she adds a fourth- and sixth-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick. Finally, Kingston also obtains in 2025 a fourth-round pick and another conditional pick, this time in the sixth round.

The 17-year-old Miedem has 31 points, including 20 assists, in 36 games this season.

On Friday, the Seattle Kraken traded the 19-year-old forward to the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.

Rumors had it that the London Knights were also among those interested in getting their hands on the Kraken prospect.

Wright was the captain of the Canadian team that won gold at the last Junior World Championship.

Wright, who was the fourth player selected in the last draft, has one goal in eight NHL games and four in five AHL games with Coahella Valley.

Windsor ranks first in the West Division this season in the OHL with 50 points in 36 games.
