Ohio quadruple homicide suspect arrested in Kansas

The suspect in the shooting deaths of four people at multiple locations outside Dayton, Ohio, was arrested Saturday in Kansas.reported the police.

Stephen Marlow, 39, was taken into custody Saturday night by police in the city of Lawrence, Kansas, Butler Township Police Chief John Porter said at a news conference.

Marlow was wanted by authorities in connection with Friday’s shooting in Butler Township.a small town north of Dayton, reported CNN.

The arrest comes a day following the victims were found at multiple crime scenes. Nevertheless, authorities have not provided additional details regarding the arrest or the investigation. The motive for the shooting has also not been determined.

Authorities described Marlow as likely “armed and dangerous” while on the run.

“Stephen Marlow remains the prime suspect”Butler Township police said in a statement Saturday. “We have no current information that would lead us to believe that others were involved in these horrific acts.”

“After the shootings, it appears that Stephen Marlow drove onto Interstate 70 and headed west,” the statement said. “At this time, we believe he has left Ohio. Law enforcement agencies in multiple states have become aware of this and are on high alert.”

Police responded to a report of shots fired just before noon Friday, Porter noted, adding that all four victims died at the scene.

“This is the first violent crime in this neighborhood in recent memory,” Porter said. “We are working to determine if there was any reason for this horrific tragedy or if mental illness played a role.”

Butler Township is a city of just under 8,000 residentslocated nine miles north of Dayton.
