OGC Nice is a hit … in handball

This week, the Women’s Handball League unveiled its list of nominees for the end-of-season awards. OGC Nice is well represented among the candidates.

The end of the season is approaching, and with it, the awards for the past year. This week, the Women’s Handball League revealed the contenders for the end-of-season LFH Trophies. Distributed both in the Butagaz Energy League and in Women’s Division 2, they aim to “to reward the best players by position and coaches and celebrate the exceptional performances of sportswomen and coaches who have shone throughout the year”. The public voting period extends over a week, ending Tuesday, May 9 at 11:59 p.m.

Metz dominates

First in the Butagaz Energie League, Metz is logically in the lead in terms of the number of nominees. In total, the Lorraine club places almost one element per category, with even its two goalkeepers (Camille Sinceet and Hatadou Sako among the three names selected. The Neptunes of Nantes, third in the French championship, place five players in the list of nominees. For its part, the dolphin Brest has four names in the different categories offered.Paris 92 and the JDA Dijon, currently in the top 6, each place two representatives.

Good vintage for Nice

The great reward is also to be found on the side of Nice. Author of a great season which currently holds them in the 8e place in the Butagaz Energie League, OGC Nice Handball places three elements in this list of LFH Trophies. Marie Prouvensier is nominated in the right-winger category, while Djazz Chambertin is also present at left-back. To crown this fine vintage, the work of trainer Clément Alcacer is also recognized. The Côte d’Azur coach is one of the three names in the running for the best coach award. He faces in the votes his counterparts Mathieu Lanfranchi (Chambray Touraine Handball) and Emmanuel Mayonnade (Metz Handball).
