The boss of Ineos and OGC Nice Jim Ratcliffe is now a minority shareholder in Manchester United, for an amount of 1.25 billion pounds (1.4 billion euros), equivalent to the sale of 25% of the shares belonging to the Glazer family, owners of the club in the north of England since 2005. Which for the moment remains in control.

According to the English press, Ineos will have responsibility for Manchester United’s sports sector following validation by the Premier League commission, a process which might take between six and eight weeks.

“Our shared ambition is clear: we all want to see Manchester United where they belong, at the pinnacle of English, European and world football.”
