Officials celebrated in the San Jacinto sector

Authorities from the state of Aragua offered statements to the media to reaffirm their position in favor of peace and civility

At the 99th Special Forces Brigade Command, located in San Jacinto, Girardot municipality, the commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) Aragua, G/D Ángel Balestrini and the national liaison of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Ricardo Molina, made a statement yesterday on the events that had occurred in the Aragua entity up to that moment.

The representative of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), stationed in the state of Aragua, explained that in compliance with the instructions of the Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), the officials were deployed in Operation Republic 2024, with the purpose of guaranteeing the correct order, after the presidential elections of last June 28.

“We carried out our activity, it developed completely normally in the state of Aragua (…) throughout the entire process it was guaranteed that this democratic citizen activity would be exercised,” said G/D Angel Balestrini.

He also said that on Monday, July 29, the Command of the 99th Special Forces Brigade was attacked by a group of citizens, “already identified and detained. We are now in the process of identifying and searching for their leaders. “We have already captured approximately 50,” said the military official.

He explained that the evidence collected will be presented to the public in the near future, and that the intentions behind the acts committed will be explained.

He called for awareness, peace and “for all Venezuelan people to reason about what destiny we want. With the support of popular forces, citizen security forces, regional and local authorities, the FANB will ensure the internal order of the State.”

For his part, the national liaison of the PSUV in the state, Ricardo Molina, explained that “the people of Aragua took to the streets to defend the tranquility of a nation.”

The rally was also led by Governor Karina Carpio, who congratulated those present for the civility they demonstrated before, during and after the presidential elections last Sunday.
