Officially.. South Africa objects to Morocco’s hosting of Liberia

The South African Football Confederation has written to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to object to Morocco’s hosting of the Liberia national team in the 2023 African Nations qualifiers.

“We have been informed that Liberia intends to play the qualifying matches in Morocco, while they are in the same group as Al Mawrib,” the South African Confederation said in its letter.

He continued, “We officially declare our objection to this measure, which contradicts the principles of fair play, because the Moroccan Football Association will travel less and enjoy the advantage of playing at home more than any team in the group.”

The Moroccan national team plays with South Africa in the same group that includes Zimbabwe and Liberia as well.
