The presidential initiative to replace new cars with obsolete cars that have passed since their first use for 20 years or more announced the return of most of the cars participating in the initiative, which disappeared for more than 4 months or more.
The initiative provides participants with dual-fuel cars running on “natural gas – gasoline”, at prices that are between 10 and 25 percent lower than the free market.
Tamer Abdel-Zaher, the official spokesman for the replacement initiative, said that the list of replacement cars (private-taxi) witnessed the return of four cars that had been suspended several months ago.
Abdel-Zaher added, in a statement to “Masrawy”, that all the cars that returned to the replacement list again, their prices increased by rates ranging from 11 to 20% compared to their previous prices.
Hyundai Elantra HD, Chery Arrizo 5, Hyundai Accent RB, and Chery Tiggo 3 cars returned to the initiative, after their disappearance for reasons related, according to sources, to market uncertainty and the companies’ inability to meet submitted requests and fair pricing.
Nissan Sunny, Nissan Sentra and Lada Granta, which have been participating in the initiative since its inception, are still absent from the initiative for reasons related to manufacturing capacity.
The following report monitors the cash purchase prices for “owner” passenger cars that are included in the replacement initiative, and their official prices that will be implemented starting from Sunday, July 23, 2023:
Chery Tiggo 3
Usually, the locally assembled Tiggo 3 is for the replacement initiative, with an official price of 590,720 pounds.
BYD F3
BYD offers the F3 at a new price, starting from July 23, the leaders, at an official price starting from 381,000 pounds for the first category, and 431,000 pounds for the second category.
Cherry Arezzo 5
Chery Arrizo 5 is offered, model 2023, in two classes, at a price starting from 353,125 pounds for the first category, and 500,720 pounds for the second category.
Hyundai Elantra HD
The 2023 Hyundai Elantra HD is available at a starting price of EGP 604,970 for the first category AT GL, EGP 614,970 for the second category AT SR, EGP 629,970 for the third category AT DAB ABS, and EGP 639,970 for the fourth category AT Highline.
Hyundai Accent RB
Hyundai Accent RB is offered at a starting price of 484,970 pounds for the first category, 494,970 pounds for the second category, 509,970 pounds for the third category, 524,970 pounds for the fourth category, and 534,970 pounds for the fifth category.
