Officially .. “CAF” announces the host country for the final of the African Champions League

After much controversy and mutual statements, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced, on Monday, that it would proceed with holding the final of the African Champions League in Morocco, despite the request of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club to hold it in a “neutral stadium”.

Union revealed, in StatementOn the date set for holding the match, the two parties of which are likely to be Al-Ahly and Moroccan Wydad, on May 30th.

And Al-Ahly of Egypt had announced, on Sunday, that StudentThe African Union, the necessity of holding the final match of the African Champions League in a neutral stadium, referring to the application of the principle of equal opportunities, following it approached with Moroccan Wydad to qualify for the final match.

Al-Ahly defeated ES Setif in the first leg of the semi-finals 4-0, while Wydad won 3-1 away to Petro Atletico.

The Confederation of African Football said, in a statement, that the previous CAF leadership had decided in 2019, that the title of the winner of the tournament would be determined by holding one match, instead of the usual final of two home and away matches.

He added that CAF received two offers to hold the final, one from the Senegalese Federation and the other from its Moroccan counterpart, but the first withdrew its offer later.

Earlier on Monday, the Qatar Football Association denied what was circulated regarding hosting the African Champions League final in Doha.

The Qatar Federation said in a statement that this matter was not discussed with the Confederation of African Football through any of the official channels or correspondences.
