Arsenal announced the extension of the contract of Spanish coach Mikel Arteta, to continue with the London club until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Arsenal said in an official statement today, Friday, that Arteta and Jonas Edval, the club’s women’s team coach, have renewed their contracts.
Arteta commented on the renewal of his contract, saying: “I am excited, grateful and very happy. We want to advance the club and compete with the best teams.”
And he added: “In order to do that we must play in the Champions League, and we must be able to develop the team, improve our players and create more ways to communicate with our fans.”
It is worth noting that Arteta, 40, took charge of Arsenal in December 2019, following the dismissal of his compatriot Unai Emery.
Arsenal is currently fourth in the English Premier League (the last qualifying place for the Champions League) with 63 points, 4 rounds before the end of the season.
