The European Football Association (UEFA) announced today that it had reached three nomination files to host the European Cup finals in 2028 and 2032, confirming the existence of a joint British-Irish file once morest Turkey in the 2028 edition. These nominations were previously announced in 2022, and they were confirmed by sending the files to the European Union. .

The competition will be limited to hosting the 2028 edition between Turkey and the joint file between Britain (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland. Turkey also submitted its candidacy to host the 2032 edition once morest Italy, the holder of the continental title, the year before last. The hosts for the two editions will be chosen next October by a vote of the European Union Executive Committee.

England previously hosted the continental wedding in 1996, while Italy organized the 1968 and 1980 editions, while Turkey never organized this event. And Russia, which had long expressed interest in hosting one of these two editions, surprised by announcing its intention to run in March 2022, just days following the start of its invasion of Ukraine, which caused UEFA to take the decision to exclude its teams from participating in its competitions.
