The National Council will decide on Wednesday in its first plenary session of 2024 to end official secrecy. The Freedom of Information Act imposes an obligation on public bodies to provide information. Also on the agenda are two motions for new elections, one from the FPÖ and one from the Social Democrats. There is no majority in sight for this.

The session opens with two “current hours”. The first of these is regarding the ORF at the request of the Freedom Party. In the “Europe Hour” followingwards, the ÖVP will focus on the topic “Security for Austria”.
