It has been a poorly kept secret that Manchester United centre-back Willy Kambwala is on his way away from the club.
And now it’s official.
Manchester United confirm that Kambwala is leaving the squad. He continues his career in La Liga with Villareal.
At the same time, Villareal announces that it is a permanent transfer – and that the centre-back has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has previously stated that the transfer fee is 10 million euros, approximately 116 million Swedish kronor.
“Willy Kambwala fought for his dream, and lived it. The defender joins Villareal and we wish him all the best in the future,” writes Manchester United on X.
