Official: Jaylan Hord has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Officially – the first foreigner to ever go directly from the red side to the yellow side. Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced today (Tuesday) the signing of Jaylen Hordwho left Hapoel Tel Aviv and signed a two-year contract with the Yellows.

I will continue to work hard to perform at the highest level and contribute to the team’s success. See you soon soon!”.

“We are happy to add Jaylen Hord to us at Maccabi,” said the Maccabi coach Oded Ketch To the club’s official website, “Jaylan is a versatile player who progressed a lot this past season in the Israeli league and in the Eurocup. He will fit into the team we are building and will help us achieve our goals in the league and in Europe.”

Hurd (25, 2.04 m) has played for the past two years in the Hapoel Tel Aviv uniform, following arriving at the beginning of 2022/23 as a training player for Danny Franco’s team. After establishing his position in his first season, the French forward/center was especially impressive last season with numbers of 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 63.5% from the field and 83% from the free throw line in 23 minutes.

In the Eurocup, the Frenchman recorded a great season and was one of the best players in the entire factory with numbers of 16.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 66% from the field and 69% from the line in 24 minutes. Together with him, Hapoel Tel Aviv twice reached the quarterfinals of the Eurocup and twice the playoff finals, which ended in a loss to his new team. In addition, Hurd was included in the French team’s squad for the Olympics.

Hurd began his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, following they landed him out of the 2019 draft. He moved from there to the Oklahoma City Thunder and also to its G League team, before landing in Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2022. Now, he has crossed the road and will wear yellow in the 2024/25 season.
