Official: Christian Benteke leaves Crystal Palace for Washington!

Christian Benteke (31) was on the sidelines at Crystal Palace and he was looking for a new challenge. He found it: he signed with DC United, the club of the capital Washington, which formalized the transfer this Friday evening.

From American sources, a global agreement was reached on Friday and Benteke will join the club where former Anderlechtois Andy Najar plays. Nicolas Frutos is also in the technical staff. But no longer Hernan Losada, sacked in April.

Benteke, who had one year left on his contract at Palace, will become the biggest transfer in DC United’s history. He had been playing in England since 2012, when he left Genk for Aston Villa.
