The play was directed by Yiannis Mortzos and stars Mary Vidali, Odysseas Stamoulis, Babis Hatzidakis, while they are supported by: Sotiris Antoniou, Marlene Karalis, Christos Marathias, Rose Mouzouri, Katerina Sotiriou, Vassilis Traiforos, Periklis Tsamantanis, Konstantinos Tsiomidis, Rodoula Hamilothori.

THE Giannis Mortzos he gave a moving performance in a classical style, highlighting the meanings and multiple levels of the work, sometimes emphasizing the dramatic scenes and sometimes giving space to the comic breaths. A real feat with twelve actors in a show without discounts at Diachrono Theatro, the welcoming theater roof created in 2010 by Mary Vidali, where she presents important works of the international and Greek repertoire, such as “The Seagull”, “Vampires”, “The Bus the Lust”, “Lela Karagianni” etc. A jewel theater that reminds us of the corresponding small scenes abroad, where good theater flourishes. That is why Diachrono has acquired its own audience. You, too, put “Vyssinokipo” on your theater agenda and hurry to book your tickets, as the shows were sold out on the first two weekends that the play was performed.

The interpretations

As for the performances, let’s note that the troupe rendered the subtle nuances of each character it was asked to perform. THE Mary Vidali, in an acting recital, she was very moving in her role Lyuba, who finds it difficult to accept that her house together with her beloved Cherry Orchard is going up for sale. THE Odysseus Stamoulis excellent with fine articulation and a voice that writes in us, he performed with cheerful often tones the role of her brother Goof, who intersperses his speech with fantastic pool moves. THE Babis Hatzidakis he was solid, perfectly right in the role of the wealthy merchant Lopakhinwho will buy the Cherry Garden, the estate where he grew up, as a collegian, but deep down he still remains a “peasant”, as Lyuba had called him when he was young.

THE Rodoula Hamilothori, in the role of the 17-year-old Boredomshe was full of vitality and enthusiasm, the very joy of life, thirsting for the new, what is coming, but at the same time very touching when she has to support Lyuba’s mother during the sale of the Cherry Orchard.

Correct in their interpretations, the Rose Mouzouri in the role of the honest and hardworking psychogirl Heavythe Katerina Sotiriou cheerful and amorous as DunyashaThe Konstantinos Tsiomidis apt as an eternal student Trofimov, with cheerful notes h Marlene Karalis as Charlotte who does magic tricks with a deck of cards, o Christos Marathias as a permanent prankster with the “22 misdemeanors”, o Vasilis Traiforos as Swimming pool who constantly asks for loans, o Sotiris Antoniou which is hyped as Yasha who wants to live in Paris. Exciting o Pericles Tsamantanis in the role of the old man Firs, who is permanently limping and closes the project by staying to die in the now sold house of Vyssinokipos. “Life has passed, it goes, as if I didn’t live it… You have no more strength… You have nothing left…” he says to himself in the heartbreaking finale of the play.

Among the very positive aspects of the show is its musical composition Thanos Georgoulas, with an atmosphere of Russian tradition, its simple and appropriate setting Ioanna Katsavouher suits neat Galina Sultanovici and its lighting is correct George Danesis. Also on the positive side of the direction is that the actors entered and left the stage from the front, passing by the square, which gave more space and contributed to conveying the atmosphere of the play.

Immediately following the official premiere, Mary Vidali, as an impeccable hostess, invited all those who honored the show with their presence, to the restaurant Lostre kitchen, located two steps from the street theater Pytheos to New world for a delicious end to the evening with good company.

Attended together with the troupe and the artistic staff were: Zacharias Rochas, Eleni Roda, Alberto Eskenazi, Gogo Atzoletaki, Iouli Zikou, Isidoros Stamoulis, Mina Heimona, Efi Rassia, Rigas Tzamtzis, Vassilis Vlachos, Theodosis Pellegrinis, Vassilis Natsios, Makis Patelis , Spyros Siakantaris, Argyris Tsounakis, et al.
