On the occasion of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia talks under the Special Investment Council, the Saudi delegation was invited to invest in IT, renewable energy and other sectors. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that there is a need to transform relations with Saudi Arabia into a strong economic partnership.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Ishaq Dar, while the Saudi delegation was led by Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
On this occasion, Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations are important for regional peace.
He said that there are vast investment opportunities in renewable energy sources, SIFC, Pak-Saudi relations are based on religious values, our partnership is based on common goals and a prosperous future.
He said that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia partnership is important, SIFC will help in increasing cooperation, there are opportunities in agriculture, energy, minerals.
Ishaq Dar said that cooperation in IT and mining is beneficial for both countries, best results are expected from the cooperation of both countries, investment in Pakistan is in the interest of both countries.
Apart from this, Saudi Arabia was offered PIA, privatization of airports, joint venture in two five-star hotels in Islamabad.
According to the proposal, CDA will provide the land for the hotels and Saudi Arabia will invest or build and run the hotels themselves if they want.
The delegation was also offered the Matiari Transmission Line and First Women Bank. The Saudi delegation welcomed the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Saudi delegation meeting with the apex committee of SIFC
The Saudi delegation also met with the Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, in which Army Chief General Asim Muneer specially participated.
The Saudi delegation was briefed on the investment projects by the Apex Committee, the delegation welcomed the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
