Indonesian female marathon athlete Odekta Elvina Naibaho is hunting for tickets to appear at the 2024 Paris Olympics by qualifying through the 2024 Daeugu Marathon in South Korea (South Korea).
“That’s right, we and Odekta Naibaho are on our way to South Korea to take part in the 2024 Daegu Marathon,” said Indonesian National Athletics Team Manager Mustara Musa, Thursday (4/4).
Mustara together with long-distance running coach Wita Witarsa are accompanying Odekta to take part in the championship which will take place on April 7 2024.
He said, in this championship, Odekta was not given a champion target, but instead presented a maximum performance to be able to secure a ticket to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Odekta must achieve a time limit of 2:26:50 as a condition for qualifying for the world’s highest sporting competition.
“Essentially, we hope that Odekta can give the best possible performance,” he said.

Previously, the Executive Board of the All Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI) reported that female marathon athlete Odekta Naibaho and 100 meter sprint athlete Lalu Muhammad Zohri were still focused on fighting to secure tickets to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
PB PASI General Secretary Tigor Tanjung said, Odekta and Zohri did not rely on being given a wild card to compete in the Paris Olympics, but instead fought through the qualification route.
“Wildcards are given to countries whose athletes do not qualify,” he said.
There are a number of athletes from other sports who have received tickets to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, namely male archery athlete Arif Dwi Pangestu, female archery athlete Diananda Choirunisa, artistic gymnastics athlete Rifda Irfanaluthfi.
Apart from that, male shooting athlete Fathur Gustafian, male rock climbing athlete Rahmad Adi Mulyono, female rock climbing athlete Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, male Indonesian surfing athlete Rio Waida, and male weightlifting athlete Eko Yuli Irawan. (Ant/Z-1)
