During the Tokyo Game Show, Xbox formalized the release of Octopath Traveler II on Xbox and the Microsoft Store PC. While the first opus took a trip through the Xbox Game Pass box, many players were surprised not to see the second episode follow the same route.

Octopath Traveler II in Xbox Game Pass?

[Mise à Jour 27/09] Microsoft apparently made a mistake in announcing the release of the game in Xbox Game Pass since the mention was removed, and an update of the page was made.

Editor’s Note: We’ve removed the mention of Octopath Traveler II coming to Xbox Game Pass that was included in error. Octopath Traveler II will arrive on Xbox platforms in 2024.

Microsoft clarifies that the mention was an error, but does not say that the game will not arrive in the service. Announcement published a little too early or incorrect information? Since the first was already available in Game Pass, we lean more towards the first solution.

Finally, it seems that Square Enix’s JRPG is indeed planned in the Microsoft service. Indeed, in an interview given to Sarah Bond, the vice-president of Xbox, Xbox Wire Japan has confirmed the upcoming arrival of Octopath Traveler 2 in Xbox Game Pass.

Fans are fascinated that titles like Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Octopath Traveler 2 will soon be part of Xbox Game Pass.

This should therefore delight all fans of the first opus, unless it is an error on the part of the Japanese branch of Xbox. We should know by early next year when Octopath Traveler 2 will be available on Xbox and the Microsoft Store PC.

In the meantime, you can already explore the continent of Solistia on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
