YouTuber Spellborne shared 20 minutes of gameplay footage from Octopath Traveler 2’s TGS 2022 demo on his channel. The sequel to the popular JRPG promises to surpass the series’ HD 2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3D environments.
In the video, we see the game’s eight new Travelers in action as they explore the world of Solistia. Each Traveler has their own unique skills and abilities that they can use to battle townsfolk, obtain items, take others with them on their journeys, and more.
We also take a look at some of the new mechanics that have been added to the game, such as the freedom to choose your Traveler’s jobs and abilities, and the break-and-boost system that made combat so exciting in the original game.
Octopath Traveler 2 evolves into a worthy sequel to the original game, Octopath Traveler, and we don’t have to wait too long until the release. The game will be released on February 24th on PC, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
