The main objective of this day is to raise awareness about the importance of washing hands with soap as one of the most effective and affordable ways to prevent disease and the spread of infections. The day also aims to support educational campaigns and programs that teach people, especially children, proper hand washing techniques. Using soap and clean water significantly reduces the risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory infections.

October 15 in the church calendar is the day of remembrance of the Holy Martyr Lucian. He lived in the first half of the 4th century. He was a man of great faith and devotion to God, and his life was an example of selfless service and martyrdom. Lucian was born in Rome and was a wealthy husband. He gave his wealth to the poor and became a hermit, devoting his life to prayer and service to God. His martyrdom was associated with the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire. Lukiyan was imprisoned and subjected to severe beatings, but he remained steadfast in his faith. He was executed in 312, and his martyrdom became a symbol of faith and devotion to God.
