Occupied Kashmir assembly passes resolution against abrogation of Article 370 – World

The Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed a resolution to restore Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the resolution to restore Article 370 was moved by Deputy Chief Minister and National Conference leader Surinder Singh Chaudhry, demanding that the Indian government talk to the elected representatives to restore the special status of the occupied territory.

The Speaker of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Abdul Rahim Rathore sought the opinion of the members while the resolution was hotly debated in the House.

Meanwhile, the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assembly, who had attacked the rights of Kashmiris, strongly opposed the presentation of the resolution, but the resolution was passed with the support of the majority.

The resolution moved by Surinder Singh Chaudhry seeks to restore the special provisions under Article 370 under which Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed autonomy.

Leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Agha Syed Ruhollah Mehdi said that BJP is not Jammu, the majority of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is in favor of this resolution, now we have to take this struggle forward.

Assembly Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Chaudhry said that we have shown our right, the people of Jammu and Kashmir also want the same, we have done what the youth of Jammu wants.

People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti said that she thanks Sajjad Lone and all independent MLAs for submitting a resolution against the cancellation of Kashmir’s special status.

On the other hand, the Kashmiri people said that today the people of Jammu and Kashmir are celebrating the passing of the resolution. After this resolution is passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, there will be a stir in the Houses of India.

Political experts said that the passing of the resolution in the Occupied Kashmir Assembly for the special status of Kashmir is a response to extremist Modi’s Hindutva ideology.

It should be noted that on August 5, 2019, the Modi government abrogated Article 370 from Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. State status was also taken away from Kashmir.

Kashmiris living in Pakistan also celebrated Black Day against the exploitation of Kashmiris around the world, while statements were issued by the President, Prime Minister and other government officials condemning Indian stubbornness at the official level in Pakistan, in which the rights of Kashmiris were violated. It was reiterated to continue their political, diplomatic and moral support till the resolution of the Kashmir issue while supporting self-determination.
