23 Occitan Paralympic athletes are ready to defend the tricolour flag.
As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have just ended, it is now the turn of the Paralympic athletes to take over. Occitanie will be especially well represented with no fewer than 23 athletes selected to participate in this long-awaited competition. From August 28 to September 8, these champions will do their best to win medals and fill their compatriots with pride.
Support from the Occitanie region
The President of the Region, Carole Delga, expresses her support for the athletes: “Occitanie is resolutely an official supplier of champions“, she emphasizes. The latter certifies that the region will continue to fuel investments relating to the development of disabled sport.
Thanks to quality sports infrastructure and an idyllic climate for many sports activities, Occitanie has become a preferred destination for the preparation of high-level athletes. This is why nearly 2,700 athletes from all over the world have chosen to come and train in the region for the Olympics.
Among the 23 Occitan athletes, two from Gard will take part in the event: Guilhem Laget in the wheelchair tennis discipline and Flora Vautier in para table tennis.
