Can you remember that? Unreal Engine 5 video by ‘RwanLink’ remember from last December? The video has not only hit us, but also on YouTube, after all, the video platform has already reached more than 1 million views since the beginning of December 2021! And of course many The Legend of Zelda fan hearts (especially fans for a echtes Ocarina of Time-Remake) beat faster.

The video created by RwanLink in Unreal Engine 5 not only looked beautiful and received a lot of approval, it also encouraged the creator to keep going.

What should you expect from this Zelda Ocarina of Time fan remake?

As with most Unreal Engine 5 fan remakes, it’s mostly done by one person. So nobody should expect a “remake” that could keep up with big development studios. Nonetheless, this video from a Zelda fan gives us the opportunity to imagine what a modern Zelda game with cutting-edge graphics technology could look like.

On YouTube, RwanLink describes the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fan remake video as follows:

“In this new episode of Zelda [Ocarina of Time] Next Gen I recreated the famous Lake Hylia.
This lake is beautiful and full of mysteries, so I wanted to recreate that feeling by imagining what it might look like with the image from a movie.

The goal of this series is to use Unreal Engine 5 to reinvent these diverse environments as if they exist in real life, and also become a better artist in general. As a director, I also plan to present a film to each of them. While I’m not a game developer, I also take the time to learn how to program a playable character and show you these environments from a third-person perspective.”

The fan video looks absolutely stunning and should be a treat for true Zelda fans.

More about Ocarina of Time

The game is supposed to be a fan project completely reprogrammed without violating Nintendo’s rights. Apparently it’s about to be released.

As it turned out I don’t really like Miyamoto Navi. So wouldn’t she be in a possible Nintendo remake?

For those still looking for a challenge to replay Ocarina of Time: One player managed this WITHOUT using the sword.
