By obsessively sifting through the SOS in the League, Striano & Co also managed to spy on Matteo Salvini‘s accounts. The circumstance emerges from the new investigation papers of the Perugia prosecutor, Raffaele Cantone, who is investigating the Anti-Mafia dossier, that vermin of illicit intrusions into the analyst system carried out against the government and centre-right politicians by the financier Pasquale Striano, investigated for illegal access to databases and revelation of the secret in collaboration with the former prosecutor Antonio Laudati and the three journalists of Domani Giovanni Tizian, Nello Trocchia and Stefano Vergine. A system of spies which, from 2018 to 2022, kept in its sights political opponents who had nothing to do with mafia or terrorism investigations, but victims of a media-judicial encirclement artfully created to influence the democratic life of the country.
It is no coincidence that Striano’s obsession with the League began precisely with Salvini’s exploits in the elections of 4 March 2018, when 17.4 percent of the preferences had crowned the Capitato as the most loved of the centre-right coalition. Since then, Striano had begun to illegally search the analyst system with the names of the big names of the Northern League, which had sadly become the party most covered by the Anti-Mafia spies with as many as 38 exponents under their attention, and to send dozens of SOS messages to his journalist friends, which converged, as ascertained by the investigators, in at least 30 of the 57 articles “containing information taken from reports of suspicious transactions, all consulted by Striano himself on dates prior to publication”, we read. In those articles, which range from the shadow of the ‘ndrangheta to the funds of the League up to Russiagate, the investigators found the details contained in 94 SOSs illicitly interrogated by the financier on names and companies, which are added to the hundreds of confidential documents exfiltrated from the analyst system, some transmitted from Striano via wetransfer to reporters and others copied onto external hard drives.
And if until now the name of the secretary was incredibly missing among the Northern League’s excellent spies, the investigations ordered by the prosecutor Cantone brought to light the intrusion on Salvini’s accounts. The dossier on the leader of the League was well hidden in SOS UF201900000000668868, «not of interest to the DNA», therefore considered abusive, contained in the article «This is how the League burned the 49 million it has to pay back», published in Domani on 18 September 2020 signed by Emiliano Fittipaldi and Giovanni Tizian.
Attached to the SOS report on the Northern League is the UIF technical report and the Banca Intesa account statement with the screenshot of two transfers arranged by the party’s banking relationship to Salvini, “guilty” of having received, for legitimate reasons , between 22 March and 31 August 2018 as many as 24 thousand euros of those 49 million “burned”. And with the secretary of the Northern League the circle closes on the obsession of the spies for the League, who in four years of illicit activity have scoured the entire party.
From the President of the Chamber, Lorenzo Fontana, entered by Striano into the database together with his wife Emilia Romano on 20 October 2022, not even a week after his election as the third state office. Up to the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, also controlled by Salvini in search of transfers. And again, among others, the undersecretary Federico Freni, the senator Claudio Durigon and the governor of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana.
