Observation of the largest increase in solar activity

  • 35 solar flares observed

Russian experts were able to observe a significant increase in solar activity.

Experts of the National Solar Astronomy Laboratory, the Institute of Heliophysics Instruments, the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other institutes said that from October 1 to date, 35 flares have been observed in the sun, including intense flares that occurred on the night of 2 on 3 October and seven fewer flares. intensity.

The solar flares began on September 29 and continue to this day, and the intensity of these flares is classified at the eighth degree on a scale of 10 degrees.

According to what Russia today reported, these flares occur in a group of certain sunspots, located on the northern hemisphere of the sun, with a total area of regarding 50,000 square kilometers. These flares lead to a noticeable increase in radiation in near-Earth space. The intensity of the radiation is increased by the charged particles ejected from the sun and scattered along the magnetic field lines.

According to experts, it is not excluded that solar activity will increase in the coming days, which will lead to an increase in the load on the Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere. However, magnetic storms are not currently expected, knowing that the situation may change at any moment.
