THE Nikos Pappashis parliamentary representative SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, testified on behalf of K.O. of the official opposition party objection of unconstitutionality once morest the bill of the Ministry of the Environmentwhich is being discussed today in the Plenary.
As he noted:
“SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance files an objection of unconstitutionality once morest the bill of the Ministry of the Environment and, more specifically, for articles 3 to 13 (s.b.: “Foundation and operation of the Water Management Organization of Thessaly S.A.”), as we consider that they violate article 2 par.1 and article 5 par.1 of the Constitution.
Water has “suffered” in the last decade and there have been successive decisions of the CoE, which make it clear, not only that the management of water should belong exclusively to the state, but also if there is a state water which has other purposes than the adequate provision of quality and quantity of drinking water to the population, this is once morest the Constitution, because water is a vital good”.
