Obi-Wan announces the postponement of his series to May 27

While the release of the Disney+ series, Obi-wan Kenobi, was scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, Disney has announced a slight delay in the release of the program, which will finally take place on Friday, May 27. An announcement made by the Jedi master himself (played by Ewan McGregor) on the Star Wars YouTube channel.

The first two episodes will therefore be released on Fridays, which is rather unusual for Disney, which usually reserves Wednesdays for original series and Fridays for films. For the rest of the broadcast (one episode per week), no schedule change has been mentioned.

No explanation was provided for this very slight delay. However, May 27 is the second day of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. Disney might therefore want to time the series’ release to coincide with a particular element of the event, but that’s pure speculation.
