Oberhausen/Mülheim/Osnabrück – The police broke up a drug gang in Oberhausen – following a deal fell through, investigators found 150 kilos of drugs. The sales value: around two million euros!
The investigators from the Hanover customs investigation and the Osnabrück police had been tracking the men for eight months. On Wednesday, a suspect (33) from Emsland wanted to buy five kilos of marijuana and 1.5 kilos of hashish from a dealer (37) in the Ruhr area. The commissioners intervened: Arrests!
Then the investigators struck, 13 apartments in Oberhausen, Mülheim adR, Ahaus, Essen and in the greater Lingen area were searched. “We’ve stabbed a wasp’s nest. We struck a big blow once morest organized drug crime,” said one investigator.
In Oberhausen, the police found several drug depots (including in a high-rise bunker). The gang probably sold everything that intoxicated: 74 kilograms of amphetamine, 56 kilograms of marijuana, 30 kilograms of hashish, 9 kilograms of tablets and 3 kilograms of cocaine were confiscated.
Suspect had expensive watches and jewelry
One of the other suspects is a man (48) from Mülheim. In his apartment, the officers not only found evidence, but also expensive luxury watches and jewelry. The items, which the police say are worth almost half a million euros, were secured. Knives and pistols also ended up in the evidence room.
The buyers of the drugs include rocker groups in Lower Saxony, the police said.
