Oasis is expected to reunite after 15 years

The band Oasis is expected to reunite soon, 15 years after it broke up, following a surprising rapprochement in the relationship between the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher – this was reported this morning (Monday) in the British media.

Liam Gallagher, the lead singer of the band, dedicated the song Half The World “Away” to his brother Noel while performing at the annual music festival in Reading, England. During the performance Gallagher performed some of the hits from the band’s debut album “Definitely Maybe” marking the 30th anniversary of its release (1994). Before performing the song he said: “I want to dedicate this song to Noel Fucking Gallagher”.

Later in the show, Gallagher hinted that an announcement was planned for next Tuesday at 08:00 am (UK time). Immediately after, a short video in the design of the Oasis logo was projected on a giant screen, and later shared on the official social networks of Oasis, Noel and Liam.

This follows the publications of the British newspapers “The Independent” and “The Sunday Times” at the end of last week, about a rapprochement between the Gallagher brothers who apparently decided to put aside their differences and appear together again after years of publicized fighting. According to reports, the band is expected to hold 10 shows at Wembley Stadium next year and even participate in the Glastonbury music festival.

As you remember, Oasis was one of the most successful bands in the world in the 90s, and was considered a trailblazer in the Britpop genre. It was led by a pair of brothers from the Gallagher family from Manchester – Noel, the guitarist and writer of most of the band’s songs, and Liam, the band’s vocalist who occasionally also took part in writing the songs.

In the 2000s there was a decline in the creative and commercial status of Oasis, but it continued to perform successfully until August 2009 – when a conflict between the brothers emerged behind the scenes of a planned performance in Paris, following which the performance was canceled and the band announced the end of its activities. In the 15 years since, in which they haven’t spoken, they’ve each had successful solo careers.
