Traffic volume in Tyrol surprisingly quiet
Vienna (OTS) – “Since the early hours of the morning, we’ve had around 15 kilometers of very heavy traffic entering the Walserberg. Of course, this also has an effect on the Tauern Autobahn (A10). Shortly following 06:00 block handling was imposed in front of the Hiefler Tunnel. It is now backing up regarding 15 kilometers to Hallein,” reported ÖAMTC traffic jam advisor Herbert Thaler on Saturday morning. Continuing along the A10, there was very dense convoy traffic in the direction of the Karawanken Autobahn (A11). The waiting time in front of the Karawanken Tunnel has currently stabilized at around 45 minutes.
“Surprisingly, the second traffic jam hotspot is in Upper Austria,” informs the ÖAMTC mobility information. After an accident near Ort im Innkreis, in which two trucks were involved, lanes had to be closed since 5:30 a.m. The traffic jam stretches back beyond the border at Suben and has now reached a length of almost 20 kilometers.
“Surprisingly, the roads in Tyrol have been relatively quiet so far. We are currently only registering a short traffic jam, approx. two kilometers, on Mieminger Straße (B189) in a construction site area,” according to the ÖAMTC mobility information.
