Exit barriers in Salzburg full of holes, climate stickers on the A13
Vienna (OTS) – “There is still a lot to come from the Munich area. Around the Inntal triangle, the traffic jams are getting longer rather than shorter,” reported “the flying eye”, ADAC-ÖAMTC flight observer Robert Sandler shortly before noon. The German autobahns A93, towards Kufstein, and the A8, towards Salzburg, meet at the Inntal triangle. “Most of them are still driving in the direction of the Salzburg-Tauern Autobahn,” says Sandler. An easing of the traffic situation on the A10-A11 axis to the Karawanken tunnel can therefore only be expected in the late followingnoon. The waiting time in front of the Karawanken Tunnel is still around 45 minutes.
Long traffic jams on the A10, holey exit barriers
“There is also a lot of traffic on the secondary road network today. Due to the long traffic jams on the A10, many have switched to the B roads. The checks on the exit and thoroughfare barriers may have been too full of holes today,” reported ÖAMTC traffic jam advisor Herbert Thaler. “You lose regarding an hour from the border crossing at Walserberg to Golling. From there it is better to go south.” On the A10, in front of the Helbersberg tunnel, there was also the first block handling of the summer for return traffic.
Traffic jams in Tyrol too, climate stickers on the A13
“The volume of traffic in Tyrol also intensified in the late morning. There were delays, especially on the Fernpass route (B179),” according to the ÖAMTC mobility information. The A13 also had to be closed for a short time. Climate activists blocked the Autobahn near Matrei-Steinach shortly following 11:00 a.m. However, the ban was soon lifted. The traffic jam quickly cleared.
No improvement in Upper Austria either
“Even in Upper Austria there has only been a slight improvement in the traffic situation since the morning hours. Traffic on the A8 following the Suben border crossing continues to flow very slowly through the construction site area near Ort im Innkreis. In addition, there is also traffic jams in the oncoming traffic area on the Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) between Klaus and Windischgarsten,” concludes the ÖAMTC mobility information.
