ÖAMTC: Busy travel and accidents on Saturday morning

Tauern and Karawanken motorways mainly affected

Vienna (OTS) On Saturday morning, numerous holidaymakers were still causing heavy convoy traffic on the Tauern (A10) and Karawanken (A11) Autobahn in the south, the ÖAMTC reported.

The traffic jams were on the Tauern Autobahn A10 between the Salzburg and Hallein junctions. In front of the Kroislerwand tunnel and the Oswaldiberg tunnel in Carinthia, there were block handling and up to 5 kilometers of traffic jams.

In front of the Karawanken Tunnel (A11), the club recorded waiting times of up to 45 minutes for entry and exit.

In Tyrol there were traffic jams in sections between Füssen and Nassereith and a loss of time of 45 minutes in the southbound direction on the (B179) Fernpass route; there were longer delays on the Brenner Autobahn (A13) between Matrei-Steinach and Nösslach.

S6 in Styria blocked for hours

The Semmering expressway (S6) was closed for hours at the Bruck an der Mur junction due to a motorcycle accident. A woman and a man were injured following a motorcycle crash and flown to the Graz hospital with the ÖAMTC emergency medical helicopter Cristophorus 17.
