The regional PMU as an urban mobility ecosystem is multidimensional: it connects people, goods and services in cities, and its impacts have socioeconomic, logistical and environmental consequences.
The Urban Mobility Park aims to bring together organizations committed to the development of sustainable, disruptive and inclusive urban mobility.
The Central–West Regional PMU has the Federal District as host and Urucuia: Mobilidade Urbana as curator and will present dedicated content for new mayors and municipal managers to discuss best practices, innovative solutions and strategic partnerships to transform urban mobility in cities.
In the Federal District, investments in urban mobility permeate several segments, with emphasis on the Brasília Vida Segura program, which reduced 43% of fatal accidents in the capital. The city also has 150 km of exclusive bus lanes, 664.7 km of cycle paths, being the second largest cycling network in the country, has a shared bicycle system, and has plans and projects to expand the subway and BRT in the Corridor West Axis.

Objective of the Central West Regional PMU
The objective of Urban Mobility Park is to recognize and reward initiatives (public and private) and people who promote sustainable, safe and inclusive urban mobility.
In addition to recognition for boldness, innovation and ability to lead and implement, the award will provide visibility and, most importantly, the possibility of scalability of projects and initiatives, as well as inspiring potential leaders to pursue inspiring and disruptive careers.
All awarded careers and initiatives must be linked to Brazil. They can be foreign people, in the case of careers, but the contribution must be connected to the national territory.
For registration and award purposes, urban mobility considers all issues relating to urban public transport, urban logistics, traffic, active mobility and road safety.
In this edition, the Central West Regional PMU will enable the experimentation of new technologies and will present new innovations for the sector in cities. With this, the event will present thematic lectures, offer several interactive actions, exclusive relevant content, coexistence spaces and exhibition of products, services and technologies for reflection, discussion of current challenges and search for solutions for more sustainable, inclusive and disruptive mobility .
The event will also present the winners of the Urban Mobility Park Award (PMU), which recognizes the professionals and projects (public and private) that stand out most in promoting good urban mobility practices. There are 30 finalist initiatives from across the country and 10 professionals who bring with them actions and projects that help transform mobility in the country.

How does the Urban Mobility Park plan to support municipal leaders in implementing sustainable transportation solutions?
**Interview with Dr. Maria Santos, Urban Mobility Expert and Curator of the Urban Mobility Park**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Dr. Santos. Can you start by explaining the significance of the Central-West Regional PMU and the Urban Mobility Park for urban development?
**Dr. Santos:** Thank you for having me! The Central-West Regional PMU (Plan for Urban Mobility) is a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing urban mobility within the Federal District and surrounding areas. It acts as an ecosystem connecting people, goods, and services, addressing the socioeconomic, logistical, and environmental impacts of transportation in urban areas. The Urban Mobility Park is a platform that brings together various organizations committed to creating sustainable, inclusive, and innovative urban mobility solutions. It’s all about fostering collaboration and sharing best practices among mayors and municipal managers to drive improvements in urban transportation.
**Interviewer:** That sounds impactful! Could you elaborate on how the Urban Mobility Park will support new mayors and municipal managers?
**Dr. Santos:** Absolutely. The Urban Mobility Park is designed to equip new leaders with the knowledge and tools needed for effective urban transport transformation. During our sessions, we will showcase successful case studies, innovative solutions, and strategic partnership opportunities. This is vital for empowering local governments to tackle challenges such as traffic congestion, safety concerns, and reducing carbon footprints.
**Interviewer:** Interesting! I’ve heard that investments in urban mobility in the Federal District, particularly through the Brasília Vida Segura program, have shown promising results. Can you share more about that?
**Dr. Santos:** Certainly! The Brasília Vida Segura program has had a substantial impact, achieving a remarkable 43% reduction in fatal accidents in the capital. This program highlights our commitment to enhancing safety and promoting responsible urban mobility. Additionally, we have established extensive infrastructure, including 150 km of exclusive bus lanes and a 664.7 km network of cycle paths, which is the second largest in the country. These initiatives are complemented by our shared bicycle system and ongoing plans to expand our subway and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems along the West Axis Corridor.
**Interviewer:** Last but not least, how is the Urban Mobility Park preparing to recognize initiatives that promote sustainable urban mobility?
**Dr. Santos:** The goal of the Urban Mobility Park is not only to educate but also to celebrate those who lead the way in urban mobility innovation. We will have awards recognizing public and private initiatives that exemplify sustainable, safe, and inclusive practices in urban transport. We believe that acknowledging these efforts will inspire others and accelerate positive change across our cities.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Dr. Santos, for this insightful discussion! It sounds like the Central-West Regional PMU and the Urban Mobility Park are paving the way for a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive urban future.
**Dr. Santos:** Thank you! We are excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to making substantial progress in urban mobility together.
