“Our players have shown remarkable dedication, and we continue to appeal to the Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen to help resolve this ban so our athletes can fully realize their potential on the global stage,” he added, emphasizing the urgent need for support to elevate Kenyan badminton.

The Nyanza Badminton Open comes on the heels of the successful City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge held in Kampala, where Apollo John proudly secured a runner-up position in the Men’s Singles Veterans category and Fred Nyaribo showcased his skills by reaching the Men’s Singles semifinals, further affirming Kenya’s talent and determination in the sport.
The tournament will showcase top-seeded players, including the current National Badminton League (NBL) seed one, Fabian Derrick, alongside seasoned players like Naomi Wandili and Commonwealth Games representative Sammy Sikoyo, promising a weekend filled with exceptional talent and exhilarating matches.
