Unfortunately it will probably be with only 8 GB of vram, it’s not very futurproof…. And the price…. I don’t even dare to imagine, but if they continue in their logic it will surely still cost the gain of perf compared to the previous gen…. :/
I finally cracked following 2-3 years trying to replace my RX580, following hesitating for a long time for a 5700XT, to finally wait for the 6800XT, which I had ordered but which never arrived (and which would always have been my current choice if I didn’t need cuda) I ended up falling back on the RTX4070….
I hope it will last as long as my good old RX580, it’s not cheap and there I have the impression that Nvidia following seeing that people were still paying the high price despite the shortages and the scalpers, end up saying to themselves that they no longer really need real low/mid-range to compete with the others… There on the Steam charts, it’s 3060, which is still generally around 350- 400€ which are the most popular, it’s still expensive, double my RX580 which still runs the games that are currently released following 6 years of good and loyal service… And what is even more surprising is that on the podium, the 2 other most popular cards currently are the RTX2060 and the gtx1060…
So hey, I think Nvidia should seriously start thinking regarding how to offer affordable cards, people are still falling back on low end cards from 9 years ago… I really hope in 9 years the 3060 will no longer be fashionable because 10060 first price is 1500eur….
After all, I still don’t really regret my purchase, but if it was only to play, I think I’d start seriously reconsidering playing on a console… I don’t have the impression that we can make any more really competitive config compared to consoles (if we count only on gaming)
