NVIDIA appears to be working on launching three new high-performance gaming graphics cards, and according to rumors, these models will be introduced as the GeForce RTX 4080 Super, 4070 Ti Super and 4070 Super. This Friday (10), the supposed specifications of these components were revealed in a leak from Wccftech.
As usual, video cards relaunched under the “Super” brand usually bring several specification improvements that may include increased VRAM memory capacity, faster modules and more powerful graphics chips, so you can expect good advances in the new versions of the GeForce RTX 4080, 4070 Ti and 4070.
According to the leak, the GeForce RTX 4080 Super should use the AD103-400 GPU with all 10,240 cores activated, which should provide a slight increase in performance compared to the GeForce RTX 4080, which has the same GPU, but with only 9,728 cores activated. The clock speed, at 2.2 GHz, should not change.
The memory interface of the GeForce RTX 4080 Super must be 256 bits, which contradicts rumors that the new version would have 20 GB of GDDR6X VRAM, so it is possible that the new version will continue with 16 GB. It is speculated that the GeForce RTX 4080 Super will only be 3% to 5% faster than the original versionmaintaining the TGP of 320 W.
Moving on to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, there is still no certainty regarding the graphics processor model, but it is possible that NVIDIA will opt for the AD103-275 or AD102-175 GPU, with 8,448 cores activated in both possibilities. The memory should increase to 16 GB (compared to 12 GB for the RTX 4070 Ti) and use a 256-bit bus.
It is possible that this model uses the same 285 W TGP as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and even so, it should bring a 15% increase in performance. Depending on its price, which is still unknown, it is possible that the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super will be an advantageous alternative to the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, which has a suggested price of US$899 (regarding R$4,419).

Finally, the lineup should include the GeForce RTX 4070 Super. This graphics card can feature an AD104-350 or AD103-175 GPU, both with 7,168 activated cores and a 48 MB L2 cache. The memory configuration should be the same as the GeForce RTX 4070, that is, 12 GB of VRAM and 192-bit bus, but the TGP should increase from 200 W to 220 W.
The GeForce RTX 4070 Super is expected to be around 15% faster than its original version. Another expectation is that the graphics card will replace its current 8 or 12-pin power connectors with the 5th generation CEM 5.1 standard.
Will there be a GeForce RTX 4090 Super?
Leakers believed that NVIDIA would announce an ultra-high-performance graphics card to replace the GeForce RTX 4090 as the most powerful for gaming, however, the most recent rumors claim that this GPU — supposedly known as the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti or GeForce RTX 4090 Super — its development was cancelled.
AMD clarified the reasons why it did not create a graphics card to compete with the GeForce RTX 4090. Design and power consumption issues led the “red team” to launch the Radeon RX 7900 XTX as its main GPU, positioning the model once morest the GeForce RTX 4080, costing a few hundred dollars less
Considering that NVIDIA doesn’t even face competition for the GeForce RTX 4090, it’s easy to imagine why the company would rule out launching a “GeForce RTX 4090 Super”.
Another factor that may have discouraged the launch of the GeForce RTX 4090 Super is the sanctions imposed by the United States government once morest China. The Western power prohibits any hardware manufacturer from selling any product that exceeds the performance of 4,800 TOPS. The GeForce RTX 4090, in itself, already exceeds this limit.

NVIDIA is expected to participate in the 2024 CES, an event that will take place between January 9th and 12th. It is possible that the GeForce RTX 4080 Super, 4070 Ti Super and 4070 Super will be presented on this occasion, however, all leaked details must be treated in the field of rumors until the manufacturer confirms (or denies) the statements.
