The smart pen is equipped with three cameras, as well as sensors that respond to pressure and movement. You can write with it on any paper. The app will store the digitized text in memory, making the saved notes searchable.

Marc Tuinier, one of the co-founders of the company, noted that handwriting contains deeply personal characteristics, so the Nuwa Pen was designed to read text written in ink and processed it on the device. “Our end-to-end encryption solution for digital ink ensures that your thoughts are safe the moment you start writing.” he added.

The smart pen uses standard D1 refills for ballpoint pens. The device comes with a charging case that provides energy replenishment in 15 minutes. The battery capacity of the pen is enough for regarding two hours of handwriting.

The Nuwa Pen application will provide the user with access to his notes at any time. For those who wish to have their handwritten notes converted to typed text, the company is offering a Nuwa Pen+ subscription for €2.99 per month.

If you pre-order now, the price of the device will be $179 instead of retail $279. Nuwa Pen will be available in black and white color options.
