This is one of the flagship hygiene products praised by content influencers: Nuud, a deodorant in gel form to be applied to the skin. The French Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) nevertheless took the decision to withdraw the product from the French market “due to painful cysts that have occurred in people who have used Nuud deodorant”. The marketing of this deodorant has been temporarily suspended and all lots available at points of sale have been withdrawn from the market, as well as those available at distributors.
The investigations carried out by the ANSM reveal that “the galenic form of this deodorant, mainly greasy, might be responsible for this undesirable effect”. The ointment applied to the skin “would favor the obstruction of the pores of the armpits with the possibility of a microbial superinfection, by an occlusive effect”, according to the health authority which specifies that “in most of the declared cases, the cysts disappeared following discontinuing use of the product or taking prescribed treatments”.
